We have two different types of units: freestanding multistage reverse osmosis water coolers and wall-mounted 2-stage water coolers. 

The Freestanding units, Model 1 & Model 3, have been certified by a 3rd party to NSF standards for the reduction of 84 different contaminants including lead, chlorine, fluoride, "forever chemicals" (PFOA + PFOS), nitrates, arsenic, and microplastics, for the entire life of the filters.  

The On-Wall units have been certified by a third party for the reduction of lead, chlorine, chloramine, microplastics, forever chemicals (PFOA + PFOS), and cysts.

Our AquaTru Pro Freestanding Models 1 & 3 use a multi-stage filtration process to remove contaminants down to 0.0001 microns:

• Mechanical Pre-Filter: Traps sediment and rust.
• Activated Carbon Filter: Reduces chlorine, odors, and VOCs.
• Reverse Osmosis Membrane: Removes heavy metals and fluoride
• VOC/Carbon Final Filter: Removes VOCs, microplastics, “forever chemicals” (PFOA + PFOS), and polishes the water for improved taste and purity.

Our multi-stage RO system (Models 1 & 3 only) is certified to NSF standards and delivers cleaner, better-tasting water than single-stage or carbon-only filters.

Our freestanding RO systems (Model 1 & 3) have an average TDS reduction rate higher than 90% as certified by IAPMO R&T. 

The AquaTru Pro On-Wall units are not intended and do not reduce TDS.

Yes, however, hard water may impact product life and filter performance. If you exceed the specifications in the product manual, you may need to change filters more frequently.

Yes, all AquaTru Pro models require a water line and drain. We recommend professional installation. If you don’t have a water line and drain, our residential options may be a good option.

Filter life depends on water quality and use but in general:

• Pre/Carbon Filter: Every 6 months or 1200 gallons
• RO Membrane: Every 2 years or 2400 gallons
• VOC/Carbon Filter: Every 12 months or 1200 gallons
• Mineral Electrolyte Boost Filter: Every 12 months or 1200 gallons
• On-Wall filter: 12 months or 3000 gallons

Please note our filters use a DIY friendly quarter-turn cartridge.

Maintenance involves filter replacements. Filters use quarter-turn cartridges that can be replaced in under a minute. No tools or plumbing adjustments are needed for regular maintenance.

Yes AquaTru Pro is certified for the reduction of the contaminants listed on our performance data sheet by IAPMO R&T to NSF standards.

AquaTru Pro water filtration systems meet NSF/ANSI Standards 42, 53, 58, and 401, and are tested for compliance with EPA and FDA drinking water standards.

All AquaTru Pro units use water contact-safe materials such as polyester, plastic, and 304 stainless steel. They have been tested not to leech harmful contaminants into your drinking water.

Yes, all AquaTru Pro units require a 120V 60hz grounded North American outlet to function. The exact power draw of each unit is dependent on the ambient temperature of the unit, the temperature of the inlet water, and the frequency of use.
